With poetry and photography at the core of her artistic practice, young Italian artist Gioia Perrone examines conceptions of memory, identity, and imagination. Juxtaposing everyday surroundings with disparate scraps of found material, she creates intriguing collages, dense with meaning and visual detail. Interested in sensations and emotions rather than technique, her works are intimate and poetic. Born in 1984, Gioia Perrone is living and working in Lecce in South Italy.
