The American artist Tony Oursler is one of the most important people when it comes to the development of video art. He has been experimenting with moving images since the 1970’s and has become famous for his mix of hallucinatory, poetic texts, and projections on dolls in violent and humorous scenes.
Oursler’s work has been exhibited at prestigious institutions such as Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, Documenta VIII, IX, Kassel, MoMa New York and Whitney Museum of American Art.
This fall, Magasin III in Stockholm is showing a selection of Oursler’s most recent work together with some of his very early work. The exhibition is simply called Tony Oursler, and it is shown from 16 Sept – 11 Dec 2016.
Magasin 3 is located in Frihamnen. For more info visit their website → https://www.magasin3.com
