While most brands showing their collections during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week give us a hint about what we will wear next spring, Future Fashion Exhibition wants to explore the fashion of the future.
This edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Stockholm will include Future Fashion Exhibition – an event highlighting the most prominent Swedish fashion brands leading the way into a more sustainable future. The event is organised by Sustainable Fashion NOW and Future Threads Project, two initiatives aiming to inspire a more sustainable attitude towards fashion.
– With this event we want to show that ethical and sustainable fashion can be just as appealing as conventional fashion, says Ada Källgren and Paula Ponzer, the initiators behind the event. The idea is to highlight brands and designers that are contributing to a positive fashion future by adding both ethical and aesthetic qualities to their designs.
Featured designers and brands at the event will be Nudie Jeans, Uniforms for the Dedicated, MINNAPALMQVIST, Alice Fine, Restructional Clothing, and REVERY. The event will also showcase the remake collection WHITE, a collaboration between Future Threads Project and the design company Stormie Poodle, where seven fashion design students have been asked to create unique garments from recycled hotel linen.
Future Fashion Exhibition will be on view during Wednesday 28 August at Regeringsgatan 57 in Stockholm. Read more about it here.
