Our blogger and contributor Daniella Johansson went to London to cover the fashion week for us. This is what caught her eyes.
This was my first time at London Fashion Week and I must say that it was a really inspiring experience. The extremely fashionable crowd, the celebrities, and the many street style photographers trying to take the best photos outside of Somerset House truly fascinated me. Everything was just so much bigger and more international compared to my previous fashion week experiences.
– I have to say that Burberry Prorsum was my favorite show. Christopher Bailey did not just present an amazing collection, but the whole idea behind the marketing was just extraordinary. Being one of the most sought after shows at London Fashion Week, the Burberry Prorsum show had extremely limited capacity, so to not neglect important press, Burberry created a runway experience event in their store at Regent Street.
– The event was very exclusive, and with a personal invitation from Christopher Bailey himself and a glass of champagne, the press could effortlessly enjoy the show live-streamed on a big screen located in the heart of the store. For the ultimate runway experience, the press was also seated as if it was a real show.
– During London Fashion Week I also got the opportunity to interview three up and coming fashion designers. This was something very exciting, and I can’t stop thinking of how many great designers there are out there, with a strong brand and vision.
– And another memory I won’t forget is when I asked Scott Schuman, also known as The Sartorialist, if I could take his picture outside the Somerset House.
