Natatorium

With inspiration from the evolution of swimsuits, young Italian fashion designer Chiara Tiso has created the intriguingly sculptural, yet sporty capsule collection Natatorium.

When I was young I leafed through fashion magazines, smelling them, Chiara Tiso tells us. I remember being in love with the scent of the paper and ink – that was actually the beginning. Now I’m studying my last year of fashion design in Treviso, Italy. I’m also writing about fashion for some magazines, something that I really enjoy and hope to be able to continue with.

Natatorium is a capsule collection made of love and technical fabrics. Every garment is inspired by the evolution of the swimsuit through the ages; from the 1860 bagnant’s dress to the classic speedo, passing through elements of the sportswear of the nineties. Natatorium is also a study of the evolution of a sense of decency. Mixing materials like neoprene, tulle, nylon, and lycra, the collection presents silhouettes that are strong and defined, but always feminine.
