It’s a brilliant day and so so soon that summer we’ve been dying for is here. I’m planning to do all things disgustingly stereotypical for summer. Hand me all the tacky props like colourful bathing suits, plastic sandals and inflatable crocodiles.
I was texting Lovisa earlier about how this year I promise I’ll trek all the way far far far down south London to see her and drink lemonade in her garden. We’ll wear cherry coloured shades, complaining about having to shave our legs and our suede skirts sticking to your skin before spontaneously going to Brighton but not affording lunch there.
It doesn’t feel like I have an ounce patience left for work, so luckily there are tunes like British goddess Nao’s Zillionaire to keep me somewhat sane.
Chastity Belt is a rock band who I wish were my flatmates, lovers and companions because oh lord they seem brilliant. These chicks write badass tracks about mansplaining, vaginas and anti-slutshaming – uhm yes! Not to mention their brilliantband photos. You have to check out this interview with the lead singer Julia Shapiro! It gives me hope knowing that women like these exist and are claiming a lot of fucking space (which they obviously deserve).
So whilst working intensely for these last few weeks before summer this is what will get me through. That and knowing that I have a ton of you kickass babes out here on the Internet, waiting to just do great stuff. We’ve got this guys.
My mum and I at some even when I brought her as my +1 to some event
It’s Tuesday and time for a new track, but it’s also the day when my lovely mum is turning 50! Happy birthday mamma, I love you! We’re out celebrating her being an absolute goddess, despite and because of her struggles. She’s like a hurricane, unstoppable and wild, but with a heart calm and strong. Nobody laughs as much as my mum but I definitely know where I got my cry baby gene from too. She loves pink blossom more than I so we’ll stroll down the cherry lane in Kungsträdgården, Stockholm before drinking prosecco and eating out with the rest of my family.
Here’s some dreamy spring pop from Ava Luna to go with this spring:
