Radar had a chat, a smoke, a walk and a pizza with Stockholm based quartet Tussilago. The band is putting the finishing touches on their debut album, but took a break to show us three of their favourite spots in the city.
1. Zacke’s kitchen
Radar finds Tussilago drummer Zacke Zachrisson slightly tired after being out late the night before. The gin on the table is about to be replaced by a cup of coffee.
The band have a lot of meetings in the apartment where Zacke and singer Rickard Renström live. They usually sit around this kitchen table discussing band stuff like artwork and single releases. They stick to drinking tea and smoking cigarettes during their gatherings. “We’ve never even had a beer while rehearsing. Don’t mix alcohol with music.”

2. Spegelteatern (Ingrid Studios)
Tussilago have their (slightly more) formal meetings at the Ingrid Studios, where they sit down with label manager Niklas Hallberg (on the left). Their meetings usually start with half an hour’s discussion of who did/drank what the night before. After that they address subjects such as releases, band identity and more. This room is where they usually sit, here repping their friends in Ingrid band Amason.
Looking at colours for the debut album, set for release in April.
(2.1. Pizza break)
(Introducing Pierre’s special pizza featuring chicken, curry, banana, peanuts and onions with béarnaise sauce on the side.)
3. Rehearsal studio
Leaving Stockholm area Södermalm to go to the rehearsal studio in the city. The band spend a few days here every week rehearsing (how many exactly depends on the week and who in the band you ask).
