When Swedish pop band År&Dar released their debut EP Du ligger med andra nu last week it was the end of a long and winding road.
Last week saw the release of Swedish pop band År&Dar’s debut EP Du ligger med andra nu. For Adam Pålsson, Max Thaning, and Simon Ring it was the end of a long and winding road. The band was formed in Stockholm already in 2007, but it would take them six years before they were ready to let the world hear their music. The record labels quickly saw the potential in the År&Dar’s sincere and honest pop music, but the future that the labels envisioned for the band was not what they themselves had in mind. They simply wanted to make music straight from the heart. The three band members decided to take a break and spend some time on their own. Adam Pålsson made himself a name as the character Rasmus in the Swedish TV-series Torka aldrig tårar utan handskar, while Max Thaning and Simon Ring devoted themselves to music production. When the eventually reunited it was with renewed energy. They began writing new songs and finished some old ones. And now, six years after they first began playing together, the are ready to step into the limelight.
Their debut EP Du ligger med andra nu is a string of raw and honest pop songs about separation and the love for music. Producer is Mattias Glavå who’ve also worked with bands and musicians such as Broder Daniel, Håkan Hellström, and Anna Järvinen.
