Radar asked Solen to be our correspondents at last weekend’s P3 Guld awards, where they were nominated as best pop of 2014. Unfortunately the band didn’t return with the prize. But they did bring back a bunch of funny pictures! Here’s what Solen experienced in Gothenburg at the gala, in their own words and pictures:
When we arrived at the hotel we were surprised by a gift from Say Lou Lou. They had placed their upcoming album for us to take (well, they probably did that in every room in that hotel). Thank you Say Lou Lou but we forgot it at the hotel :(
It’s very important to iron your pants before going to the gala. Especially your FIRST EVER GALA!!!!
Oooohhh look at us, doing the red carpet!
We felt inner peace even though we didn’t win. Ok, we admit it would have been nice to give a speech no one would never ever forget but we knew we couldn’t win against Beatrice Eli.
After the gala we went back to the hotel for the buffet. We ate so much we had to lay down. The hotel had very nice TV:s with a lot of channels. When this picture was taken we were watching “Nyheterna” on channel 4.
After “Nyheterna” we watched “Vädret” and then we went to a night club downtown Gothenburg. Someone told us Swedish House Mafia threw a party at the night club but we didn’t see them at all. Maybe they threw it from LA. The owner of the night club gave us free beer and shots and we got nervous thinking “maybe we have to hang out with him now”. So we started to talk with him but it turned out we had nothing to talk about so he left.
Then we took a taxi to Hisingen. It was supposed to be a killer party there. The driver let us listen to “Where The Eagles Dare” by Iron Maiden via Spotify. What a great song and what a great taxi driver.
It turned out the taxi driver wasn’t as good as we first thought, because he didn’t know the route to Hisingen. Hisingen is the fifth biggest island in Sweden so he should know where it is. And he didn’t have a GPS so it took us quite a while to get there. Lucky us Iron Maiden don’t make short songs.
Finally at the party on Hisingen. A lot (!) of people in an old warehouse. Good music. We felt drunk and tired so we took a cab back home to the hotel. What a night!!!
