Radar Mix: 1987

Swedish musician Victor Holmberg who goes by the name 1987, is releasing his new single Bomb today. He made a mix tape for Radar, listen to it and get hyped for the weekend.

Tell us more about your mixtape.
– I think this time I’ve made a mixtape with new tracks that I’ve recently found and am really enjoying at the moment. I tend to listen to more music at night, I don’t know why but I would think I can relate to what I’m listening to easier. I’m more accessible. During the day there’s so many distractions. I really like the electronic music scene at the moment (or what you call it) I mean the type of music I’ve played in this mix. It’s very attractive and sets me in the perfect mood. I think that’s always something I look for. Music to set me in a specific mood.

When do you think one should listen to it?
– For some reason I picture myself listening to this in a car, driving at night. It has a lovely pace and I like how it makes you wanna move forward. I would listen to this maybe going out, having it in my headphones or on the stereo while getting getting ready, putting on my jacket and shoes, walking out the door, it would get me excited about the night in a sophisticated kind of way. I listen to these tracks all the time. It’s the kind of music that turns whatever is surrounding you into a movie. I really like to listen to this on the night bus on my way home. I would say that is my perfect place. Especially in London where I live, where I can sit on the upper deck in the front looking out on the road while you drive through a never sleeping city, with bright lights hitting your eyes a bit drunk. And you can share one earpiece with your girl.
