Under the Radar: Adele Kosman

One half of drugbeat duo For BDK, Adele Kosman is a rising star on the Swedish pop scene. This week she will perform at Stockholm art school Konstfack, and we decided to put her under the radar.

Would like to meet…
– … and do music with Nicolas Jaar and James Blake.

Most memorable night out…
– Hmm, there are so many. I really appreciate small weird things. Like one night this August, at Way Out West festival, a few friends of mine had gone to a forrest rave and I followed behind. They told me it was quite a walk. But I didn’t mind… I had my good heels on. After walking for half an hour I did mind, though. Well, the rave was great and I had a little swim in the beautiful swamp next to it.

– Another one was in Barcelona while visiting a close friend of mine. We danced for ever and on our way home we desperately tried to find a place to eat. This was hard, since it’s illegal to serve food at night there, or something like that. Finally we met some people who told us about this hidden place nearby. We end up in front of one of those metal “curtains” that stores pull down after closing. They just opened the door and inside was a restaurant filled with people, and the walls were decorated with hundreds of pictures of the 150 year old owner posing with various guests and celebrities. The food was awful, but we had a great time.

Guilty pleasure…
– Spending hours after hours on Tradera, searching for strange and cheap garments. And Marabou.

In my next life…
– I would like to be a fashion designer. However, I would rather call it textile artist or something similar. If I do get the chance to produce textile art as some sort of main occupation in this lifetime, I think I would want to be a dancer in my next life.

Wouldn’t recommend…
– A lot of things. I think I would just sum it up to not recommending being thoughtless in your actions.

My hero…
– Would be everyone who has the courage to stand up to what is right. Sounds cheesy. It is cheesy. But it is true.

Before I die…
– First of all, I would like to have the time to grow old. Secondly, I would like to spend all this time with smart, creative, and wonderful people while doing awesome fun stuff.

Hidden talent…
– That belly roll that belly dancers do. I don’t have great use of that talent.

Just discovered…
– That hats are essential if you want to be a true old, glamourous, fashion lady.

Dances to…
– Preferably 70’s and 80’s disco and funk.

Laughs at…
Kristoffer Appelquist.

Wears…
– Old lady clothes and almost everything that isn’t in fashion.

Most visited website…
– Facebook and Tradera.

Most viewed YouTube video…
– Can’t say that I watch tons of YouTube videos. I like watching random stuff on SVT Play, and about a week ago I got caught watching Lady Gaga’s music videos for several hours.

This Wednesday, December 11, For BDK will perform at Stockholm art school Konstfack, wearing designs by Filip Palmén. Read more about the event here and watch a teaser video below.
