Under the Radar: Faråker

Under the moniker of Faråker, Swedish musician Olle Blomström makes pop fusing the happy-go-lucky sound of thousands of cikadas with Northern melancholy and youthful defiance. With his Början på slutet debut album out today, we decided to pick his brains.

Would like to meet…
– I would have liked to meet Mickie Most when he was alive, to compliment him for using wha-wha-bongos on You Sexy Thing.

Most memorable night out…
– My first gig as Faråker in my home town was beautiful. I played on a small stage with ocean view, and all of my friends and family was there –singing along to my songs.

My greatest extravagance…
– Buying seated train tickets. I’m a simple man.

In my next life…
– I want to be a cowboy! I’d be taking my horse instead of the train.

Wouldn’t recommend…
– Waking up early. It’s horrible. Every day starts in a horrible manner for so many people. It’s crazy.

My hero…
– Brian Wilson.

Before I die…
– I think I want to run a marathon. It would be cool to do after I die as well, in a zombie race.

Most viewed YouTube video…

– It makes me laugh out loud every time.

Hidden talent…
– I am a very safe driver. I guess all my good talents are out in the open.

Just discovered…
– Lorde’s Team is awesome.

Dances to…
– Paul Simon’s Graceland.

Laughs at…
– South Park.

Wears…
– Jeans.

Most visited website…
– Google and Reddit, the vanilla and chocolate of the internet.

Most read book…
– I can only read a book one time, it bores me to know what is going to happen. But the titles I’ve at least tried to read a second time is Tortilla Flat by John Steinbeck, and The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams.
