Under the Radar: Julia Spada

In a time when the Swedish pop scene is dominated by young, female, kick ass singers, Julia Spada still stands out with her singular voice and incredible charisma. Here she reveals her greatest extravagance and what sexist nightmare of a book she’s actually read twice.

Would like to meet…
– My granddad, who died when I was one years old. I think we would’ve clicked.

Most memorable night out…
– Can’t remember.

My greatest extravagance…
– Making music instead of worrying about my retirement plan.

In my next life…
– Getting a Fields medal for my outstanding mathematical achievements, maybe?

Wouldn’t recommend…
– Apparently, this kitchen dominatrix is a nightmare to cook with.

My hero…
– Our mothers.

Before I die…
– Shaping up my second native tongue Italian.

Hidden talent…
– Very fast walker.

Just discovered…
– Cauliflower, the band Systraskap (through their AMAZING liveshow), and strega.

Dances to…
– My friends’ music.

Laughs with
– My two adorable nephews. Four-year-old Adrian just learnt how to dance flamenco.

Wears…
– Look it up.

Most visited website…
– Soundcloud.

Most read book…
– Very ashamed to admit I read 1000 page racist AND sexist nightmare Gone With The Wind twice as a pre-teen. Normally, I don’t re-read anything.

Most viewed You Tube video…
– I don’t re-watch stuff either if I can avoid it.
